The story behind Noohr

Long before Noohr had a name, it lived in curiosity.

Our roots

Lubna grew up watching care unfold in small, intentional moments. Every morning and evening, her mother moved through beauty rituals rooted in traditional ingredients like yogurt, rosewater, sandalwood, and honey. Everything was mixed slowly and applied gently. Even when life was busy, the ritual was never rushed. Those moments stayed with her.

Years later, as a beauty blogger, she found herself immersed in the industry, reviewing products and testing formulations. At the same time, her work as a postcolonial writer led her to examine questions of cultural inheritance and tradition.

Eventually, those two worlds converged. She began to see the rituals her mother practised as something more than tradition. They carried generations of beauty knowledge and cultural wisdom, yet remained largely overlooked by the mainstream beauty industry. Noohr became the answer to that absence.

Inspired by the Arabic word for light, Noohr also symbolizes hope, optimism, and a glow from within. It reflects how we choose to move through the world.

Between past and present. Between body and thought. Between how you care for yourself and how you feel within.

It is quiet, but powerful.
Personal, but shared.

At its core, Noohr is about connection.
